Prime Minister Narendra Modi is extremely active on Social Media. His followers are aware of all his visits, activities, and tours via his accounts, where he enjoys tremendous following. However, the same platform has come to mock and question several of his activities. Background
PM Modi was in his home state Gujarat, where the state assembly elections will take place later this year. Aam Aadmi Party, a major competitor in the state, launched heavy criticism on the poor quality of education in Gujarat. In response to the same, the government launched the ambitious ‘Mission Schools of Excellence’ project in Gandhinagar. To promote the same and spread awareness about the updated technology, the PM visited a school, interacted with the students and even ‘studied’ with them on their devices.

The Controversy
As soon as the pictures of PM Modi’s visit to a classroom were out, people started questioning whether it was a classroom that he visited, or a CGI studio, as the pictures seemed to be photoshoots. People have pointed out several reasons why the photos might be fake. The number of benches, the structure of the classroom and most importantly, the window seen in the same. All of it looked untrue and out of place.

Reaction from BJP
Members of the Bharatiya Janata Party have hit back at the trolls by posting older pictures of the PM while he interacted with students. However, there has been no clarification on the recently posted photos.
