Palki Sharma Upadhyay, WION’s Managing Editor, has resigned. According to insiders, she announced her resignation today at 2 p.m. during a meeting with the WION team. She will be hosting one final instalment of her prime-time show, Gravitas, on September 2, 2022.

While her reasons for the resignation are unknown, sources state that Dr Subhash Chandra and the new management were concerned that the newsroom and the news product were built on and dependent on one show and one anchor. There are speculations that she was forced to quit due to this reason.
It is unknown where she will join next, but there are speculations that she might join CNN News 18, Times Group, or the India Today Group.

Palaki Sharma completed her schooling at the Loreto Convent, which is located at Tara Hall in Shimla. She further studied at the ICG Institute for Educational Research & Development in New Delhi. Furthermore, she has a C1 level certification in French from the Alliance Francaise.

Her Early Career:
Palki began her career as a news anchor on Doordarshan, India’s largest broadcast television network, where she hosted a regional and national channel. She was assigned to pick, prepare, and write pieces on current events for Doordarshan. In 2004, she worked as an editorial writer for the Hindustan Times, writing about civic and social issues.

No interest to watch Wion TV. I had specific interest in Gravitas program. After my dinner it was a treat to watch Palki. Her way of explaining things was simple and clear. She used to mention the topic and there follows our story.Will be missing all her presentation

I suspect her criticism of China caused her to leave. In other words, China does not like criticism and they just need to say stop that behaviour or else so WION under pressure from outside sources had to comply. Palki said bye bye. Palki called a spade a spade and told the truth. I will not watch WION anymore.
