Another Actor Loses Their Life: Sarabhai vs Sarabhai Actress Vaibhavi Upadhyaya Killed In Tragic Car Accident

Actress Vaibhavi Upadhyaya died in a horrific vehicle accident after Nitesh Pandey died earlier this week. According to the police, she, unfortunately, died in a car accident on Monday in Himachal Pradesh. She was well-known for her role in the television series “Sarabhai vs Sarabhai: Take 2.”

Vaibhavi Upadhyaya and her fiancé were riding in a Fortuner with a Mumbai registration when the disaster happened in the Banjar neighbourhood of Kullu district. The car went off the road and fell into a gorge. The collision happened when the driver tried to negotiate a tight turn.

SP Kullu Sakshi Verma told PTI, “ “Vaibhavi Upadhyaya tried to get out of the vehicle through the window and sustained a head injury which proved fatal while the other passenger was safe.”

On Wednesday, said Verma, the actor‘s final rites—Vaibhavi Upadhyaya was in her 30s—will be performed in Mumbai. Early on Wednesday morning, “Sarabhai vs. Sarabhai” producer J D Majethia posted the sad news of Upadhyaya’s passing on his Instagram Story.

Upadhyaya appeared in “Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai” as Jasmine Mawani, the love interest of Rosesh, portrayed by Rajesh Kumar. Her feisty persona frequently made viewers laugh with her literal foot-in-mouth translations from Gujarati to English. The Gujarati slogan “Khot nat kehti” (I speak the truth) and Jasmine’s refusal to submit to the aristocratic Maya Sarabhai (Ratna Pathak Shah), the family matriarch, were further reasons for her popularity.
