Previously, Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor shared an Instagram story with a clear message: “Don’t know who needs to hear this, but please stop wearing fake sneakers. If you have a limited or moderate budget, there are numerous excellent alternatives available such as Converse, Vans, basic Air Force, and more. In the event that you receive counterfeit sneakers as a gift, you can consider passing them on to someone who may not be aware of their authenticity and would appreciate them. However, if you’re purchasing sneakers for yourself, it’s advisable to exercise due diligence and buy from reputable sellers.”

In response to a tweet that criticized him, Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor took to Twitter to explain his perspective. He stated, “When I put this out, I already knew people who don’t understand would come after me, etc. But the truth is, I’ve been involved in the sneaker culture for a considerable amount of time, and I’ve observed that replicas of highly sought-after shoes can often be more expensive than, for example, a pair of classic Converse, old-school Vans, or even used Air Force sneakers.” In this way, he sought to clarify that his intention was not to demean anyone but rather to shed light on the pricing dynamics within the world of sneaker collecting.

Furthermore, Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor acknowledged the predictable reactions on social media, stating, “I know that every time I express my views, there will be individuals on social media who may not have much knowledge about footwear, and they might react strongly. However, it’s important to note that many of my followers are sneaker enthusiasts or individuals interested in building their sneaker collections, and it’s primarily to this audience that I’m addressing my thoughts. For those who find joy in venting their frustrations here, you can continue to do so for a temporary release of joy.”

In another post, Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor emphasized the importance of thoughtful dressing for men and boys. He encouraged them to make smart investments in their attire, emphasizing that it doesn’t necessarily have to be expensive, as there are plenty of affordable options available. He pointed out that wearing an expensive pair of shoes alone wouldn’t suffice if the overall outfit isn’t well put together.

The clothing and accessories one choose, according to Kapoor, should convey something about their tastes, preferences, and individuality. He stressed that information on fashion and style is readily accessible and urged people not to be lazy but rather to explore and learn, highlighting that it can be an enjoyable journey. Ultimately, he underlined that whether it’s within sneaker culture, street fashion, or any other style sphere, the focus should be on expressing one’s unique identity and individual choices, allowing their outfit to communicate their values and personality.
