A renowned cardiologist from Gujarat, 41, died of a heart attack on June 6. Dr Gaurav Gandhi was known for being one of the best cardiologists in Gujarat. He held the record of conducting over 16,000 heart surgeries throughout his career as a medical professional.
Reports suggest that Dr Gandhi died due to a severe cardiovascular complication. He collapsed near his bathroom after reaching home. From his house, Gandhi was shifted to GG hospital, where he was declared dead within 45 minutes of reaching the hospital.
The untimely death of a cardiologist has sent shock waves, as it has raised concerns about the rising number of heart issues amongst the younger generation. Experts suggest that the unhealthy lifestyle of the youngsters, such as smoking, excessive consumption of alcohol, and increasing levels of stress has added to the trend.
According to the family of the deceased doctor, he observed no discomfort in his behaviour. They also added that he maintained his health well. Dr Gandhi was actively involved in the ‘Halt Heart Attack’ campaign on Facebook, which showed his commitment to his job.
Dr Gaurav Gandhi is survived by his wife and two children.
