During the 14th budget announcement by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Karnataka state Govt unveiled its state Budget for the year 2023-24, with a comprehensive allocation of Rs 3,27,000 crore.
As the Chief Minister pledged a substantial amount to support the implementation of several key initiatives including the development of High-Density Corridors, the enhancement of road infrastructure through White Topping projects, the improvement of Solid Waste Management systems, robust healthcare, education and so much more.
Key highlights of the budget:
HEALTHCARE:
-HIGH-TECH SUPER SPECIALITY HOSPITAL: ₹5 Lakhs Subsidy with 0% interest for Sericulture.
-219 Government Dialysis Centers across Karnataka.
– Upgrading of Koppala, Karwar, Kodagu district Hospitals.
– AED: automatic electronic defibrillator-In Remembrance of Dr Puneeth Rajkumar, to avoid Sudden Cardiac Arrest— AED MACHINE in all Taluk, District Govt Hospitals across Karnataka.

-Rs 5 crore worth completely AUTOMATED and CENTRALISED BLOOD BANK management system will be established in Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute, formerly Bangalore Medical College.
-For early diagnosis of TB(Tuberculosis), two hand-held X-RAY MACHINES in 8 districts.
– Karnataka Health Technology Laboratory will be established at the cost of Rs eight crore.
– Karnataka Digital Health Society will be established in order to implement the Ayushman Bharath & other digital initiatives of the health department.
–SWIGGY, AMAZON, e-commerce Workers across Karnataka to get, ₹2 Lakh Health Insurance and ₹2 Lakh Accident Insurance
– Under Asha Kiran Scheme at Chitradurga, Raichur, Mandya, & 5 districts-BRAIN HEALTH INITIATIVE CENTER
EDUCATION:
-CONG GOVT TO SCRAP THE NEP— NEW EDUCATION POLICY!
-Suitable training programs will be organized for around 7800 departmental staff at Higher Education Academy under the VRUTHI CHAITANYA PROGRAMME at a cost of Rs 10 crore.
-In collaboration with the British Council and Regional Institute of English— Smart English-Speaking classes in all Government Higher Education Schools.
– LOAN LIMIT INCREASE FOR MEDICAL & ENGINEERING STUDENTS. Selected Govt Quota Students to get a high limit of Govt loan from ₹50K to ₹1 Lakh (loan) every year.
– UPGRADING GOVT SCHOOL & COLLEGE New toilet complexes will be constructed in 5775 schools, 150 colleges UPGRADING old, dilapidated & rain-damaged school buildings & 724 pre-university college rooms.
-YUVANIDHI scheme – 3 lakh 70 thousand are the beneficiaries of Yuvanidhi will get ₹3000 Diploma Holders to get ₹1500 through DBT.
under Protein Bhagya Scheme: – Free Eggs Supply for all Kids across Karnataka from First Standard to 10th Standard in all Government & Aided Schools.
– Peanut Chikki and Banana TWICE a week in Government and Aided Schools across Karnataka for 1-10 standard students— 60 LAKHS Childrens to get the benefits
INFRASTRUCTURE:
-3-Lakh RCC-Houses for Poor across Karnataka. UNDER Chief Minister Housing Scheme: Urban Poor (BBMP limits) to get 1-Lakh RCC houses at SUBSIDIZED RATES.
– Water project cost has increased to Rs 23,252 crore from Rs 12,912 crore— Drinking water to be supplied to Kolar, Chikkaballapura, Ramanagara, Bengaluru Rural and Tumkur.
– The second phase of KC Valley and HN Valley treated water scheme to fill 296 tanks of Kolar and Chikkaballapur districts at a cost of Rs 529 crore.
–300 HIGH-TECH HARVESTER HUBS across Karnataka.
-INDIRA CANTEEN GETS ₹100 crores.
-₹30,000 CRORES for NAMMA METRO.
– Short-term zero-interest loan increased from ₹3Lakh to ₹5Lakh Medium and long-range loans at 3% interest increased from ₹10Lakh to ₹15Lakhs Interest subsidy 7% up to ₹20-Lakhs to construct Godowns.
AGRICULTURE:
– SCRAP OF APMC: Government will withdraw the APMC Act, which reduced revenue of APMCs in the state.
-Increase in Loan-subsidy for Fisherwomen from ₹50K to ₹3 Lakhs.
-RE-IMPLEMENTATION OF ANUGRAHA SCHEME! – Compensation for Accidentally died Cattles
-From July-10th we’ll DELIVER ANNABHAGYA DBT ₹170/- and 5-Kg-rice per person for the residents of Karnataka. We’ve called for tenders, until we get sufficient rice to deliver 10-kg-rice, we’ll do DBT for 5-kg-rice.

–Upgrading and Developing the Iconic Places of Karnataka, implementing International Surfing Spot. Upgrading Tourist Spots— Badami, Saundatti Yallamma Gudda, Chamundi Betta, Udupi, D.K, Karavali Beaches, Anand Mahal, others
