Vikram Gokhale, a veteran Marathi theater and Bollywood actor who has a remarkable filmography in the Hindi and Marathi film and television industries. The actor has appeared in notable roles in films like Agneepath, Tum Bin, Khuda Gawah, Dil Se, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, De Dana Dan, Hichki, Nikamma, and Mission Mangal, among others.

1. The legendary actor began his acting career in the 1960s with Marathi theatre productions. Vikram Gokhale continued his theatre career till 2016, despite later making a name for himself in both Marathi and Hindi cinema.

2. Vikram Gokhale is the son of famed Marathi actor Chandrakant Gokhale. His father was one of the most celebrated artists in the industry.

3. Early in his 20s, Vikram Gokhale began to work steadily as an actor in Marathi films before making his Hindi film debut. In 1971, the actor made his Bollywood debut in Amitabh Bachchan’s film Parwana. 

4. The veteran actor kickstarted his career as an actor with the Marathi theatre plays, in the 1960s. Even though he later established himself as a prominent face in both Marathi and Hindi cinema, Vikram Gokhale continued his theatre career till 2016.

5. The 2010 Marathi movie Aaghaat, which debuted in theatres, marked the legendary actor’s eagerly anticipated directorial debut. For his work in the 2013 Marathi movie Anumati, Vikram Gokhale received the National Film Award for Best Actor.

6. Vikram Gokhale was running an acting academy in Pune before he fell ill. He was also quite active in the real estate business and owned a firm named Sujata Farms in Pune, where he had been living for the last few years.

7. For his contributions to Marathi theatre, Vikram Gokhale was given the Sangeet Natak Academy Award in 2011, the nation’s highest honor for theatre performers.

8. He is the great grandson of renowned artist Durgabai Kamat, who is known as the first female actor in the Indian film industry.

9. Vikram Gokhale’s Father Chandrakant Gokhale is the son of Kamlabhai Gokhale, the first-ever female child actor to appear on the Indian silver screen.

10. He has been actively involved in some charitable work and runs a charitable organization that is involved in assisting disabled soldiers, orphan children, soldiers, and other people in need.
