Excitement fills the air as Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s much-anticipated crime saga, “Animal,” featuring a stellar cast including Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, and Rashmika Mandanna, hits theaters alongside Meghna Gulzar’s “Sam Bahadur.” Despite the competition, Animal is poised to dominate the box office this weekend, driven by the star power of its leading actors.
The buzz surrounding “Animal” reached a crescendo as it secured an impressive 20 crores in advance bookings, with over 7 lakh tickets already sold. The film delves into the story of Arjun Singh, portrayed by Ranbir Kapoor, the son of wealthy industrialist Balbir Singh (Anil Kapoor). Arjun is depicted as a force to be reckoned with, willing to unleash chaos if anyone dares to harm his father. The narrative takes a gripping turn when Balbir becomes a target of an attack, setting the stage for a fierce showdown between Arjun and his nemesis, played by Bobby Deol. Adding depth to the storyline, Rashmika Mandanna takes on the role of Ranbir’s wife in the movie.
Despite its ‘Adults only’ certification and a runtime extending to 203 minutes, “Animal” has generated substantial excitement among cinephiles. In a recent interview with The Hindu, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga shared insights into the film’s editing process, revealing that the initial cut spanned almost 4 hours. Vanga remarked, “The first cut of Animal was 3 hours 45 or 46 minutes. I chopped till 3:21. I have seen the film multiple times, and it is an engaging experience. Ranbir is a great performer and will not let the audience relax for a second.”Notably, despite the ‘A’ certificate and its extended duration, industry experts predict a grand opening for “Animal” at the box office. Film producer and trade analyst Girish Johar expressed confidence in the film’s success, stating, “Despite the adult certificate, non-holiday release, and its longer duration, the film is set to have a massive opening, not only in India but also in overseas markets.” Johar estimated a potential worldwide gross of Rs 100 crore, with Rs 55 crore originating from the Hindi market.
The momentum leading up to the film’s release reached a zenith with the high-impact trailer, earning Ranbir Kapoor accolades for his intense performance. As per the latest updates, “Animal” has already secured a staggering 7,45,992 tickets for 12,539 shows, setting the stage for a robust box office performance. The fervor among netizens, coupled with the film’s strategic release and the charisma of its ensemble cast, positions “Animal” as a strong contender for box office glory in the coming weeks.
