Shashank was in love with a girl who was a distant relative from Mysuru, according to the police. The parents on both sides opposed this. On July 3, when she arrived in Bengaluru, the victim took her to his house.
When the girl’s parents and other relatives learned of this, they broke into the house, attacked Shashank, and took the girl. This happened last Monday, July 10.

Shashank’s father, Ranganath, dropped him off at college on Saturday. A gang of criminals abducted Shashank as he waited for the bus after concluding the day’s class at the college.

According to the police, the abductors bound his hands and legs before dousing him in a flammable liquid and torching him. Shashank doused the fire with the aid of others and called his family.
Shashank sustained severe burn wounds over his body. The police have started the investigation. Regarding the incident, further information is still to come to light.
