The TIME100 Reader Poll is a platform for readers of the magazine to vote for their favorite personality. Among the list of contenders were renowned individuals such as Lionel Messi and Mark Zuckerberg. Shah Rukh Khan secured the top spot with over 1.2 million votes, accounting for 4% of the total votes in the poll.

The second position was claimed by the Iranian women who were protesting against the hijab controversy, who received 3% of the total votes in the poll.
Shah Rukh Khan had been on a hiatus after a series of underperforming movies at the box office. However, his stunning comeback with Pathaan not only rejuvenated his career but also provided a much-needed boost to the Hindi film industry, which has been facing a difficult time since the pandemic.
