Rishab Shetty’s Kanatara was the highlight of Indian cinema in 2022. The Kannada movie went on to become one of the most successful movies in India as far as the returns are concerned. The director-actor of the movie has good news for all the fans, as he updated them about the part of the film.
Based on the Bhoota Kola culture, the movie sheds light on the culture of the people from the coastal parts of the state. The two and half hour long movie follows the life of the protagonist and his tryst with the local god.
The roller coaster of emotion that this movie is, left the fans with a pleasant surprise when it became apparent that there will be a sequel to the movie.
As soon as the movie was released and became an instant hit, not just in Karnataka but across the country, there were theories and speculations about the subject matter for part two of this movie.
Several people stated that the specially-abled son of the landlord who was killed in the end by Shiva, will turn back to haunt the people of the village, and Shiva’s son will carry on the generational fight.
However, while speaking at the ceremony to celebrate 100 days of Kanatara’s release, Rishah Shetty confirmed that part two of the movie is not going to be the sequel of Kantara, but a prequel.
Going by Shetty’s statements, Kantara two will take a deep dive into the origin story of when the village started rooting because of him saving the day for them.
Stated to release by 2024, there has been no official confirmation about the dates and cast and crew of the film. With the start of the new year, and growing anticipation amongst fans, one shall expect the news to come out anytime soon.
