Border Village In Belgaum Gets Electricity For The First Time

The residents of Dangarwadi in the Damane S Bailur village of Belgaum district, located along the Maharashtra border, the village has finally received access to electricity. The absence of electricity in this village, even during Independence Day celebrations, caught the attention of Energy Minister KJ George. Responding to the plea raised by Women and Child Development Minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar, who is also the local MLA, Minister George took swift action, resulting in the inauguration of solar and wind power facilities. This marks a historic moment as the village experiences electrification for the first time.

The Dangarwadi residential area in Damane S Bailur had long been deprived of electricity, even on significant occasions like Independence Day. Minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar, representing the constituency, brought this dire situation to the attention of Energy Minister KJ George. Recognizing the urgency, Minister George convened a meeting with officials, issuing instructions to expedite the electrification process. This proactive approach led to the installation of solar and wind power facilities in the village, a notable achievement for the region.

On Thursday, Minister KJ George visited Dangarwadi and inaugurated the newly established electricity facility. The event was a moment of joy for the villagers who could finally experience the benefits of electrification. Minister Hebbalkar emphasized the significance of this project, highlighting that even after years of independence, the village had been living without electricity. The inauguration is a testament to the government’s commitment to addressing the needs of underserved communities.

While celebrating the successful implementation of the immediate electrification project, Minister George assured the villagers that efforts to permanently electrify the village would be prioritized. He mentioned plans to seek permission from the forest department for laying continuous electricity lines, ensuring a sustained and reliable power supply for Dangarwadi. This commitment reflects the government’s dedication to uplifting rural areas and improving the quality of life for its citizens.

The event saw the presence of Hubli Power Transmission Corporation Managing Director Mohammad Roshan, Chief Engineer Prakash, and local Gram Panchayat President along with its members. Their presence signifies the collaborative effort involved in bringing electricity to Dangarwadi.
