Biggest State-level School Debate Competitions

Celebrating Knowledge, Intellect, and Wit


Verbattle Karnataka Annual Debate Championships are conducted by Verbattle Foundation, a premier global debate promotion organization since 2005, for the academic year 2023-24.  The Organization has to date conducted over 120 large-scale Regional, National & International debate events.

Top Schools & Institutions from various parts of Karnataka participated in this 19th annual edition of the student debate competitions.

Students debated in the unique, thought-provoking, awe-inspiring, quick, educating, entertaining, engaging, and internationally acclaimed Verbattle Debate Format.

  • The Debate Competitions commenced with the Beginner category on 26th June 2023 followed by the Junior and Kannada categories. Competition for all these 3 categories culminated on 07.2023.
  • Junior Plus category debates have commenced on 01.08.2023 and are ongoing while Speech Competition is scheduled on 08.08.2023.
  • Around 900 students from 52 reputed institutions from 2 zones of Karnataka, viz.,Hubballi & Bengaluru, participated in this prestigious event.
  • After orientation, participants went through several grueling rounds of Verbattle Debates from Clamber, Skirmish, Combat, Confrontation up to the final FACE OFF rounds.

The Winning & Finalist teams under the 3 categories culminated are annexed herewith, with respective prize amounts earned by the teams.

The event was sponsored by AI Enterprises, Microlabs, KREDL, Canara Bank, Kelachandra group, Varthachakra and supported by TV House Network.

Leading achievers and eminent personalities were part of the panel of Judges over a period of several days. RJ Rasheed, Dr.Muralidhara G.V, Prof.Ramakrishna, Dr..M.S.Savitha, Dr.Anitha Ravishankar,Mr Ramakrishna Upadhya and several others.

Prof.Lingaraja Gandhi, Vice-Chancellor of Bengaluru City University has participated as the Chief Guest during the grand finale of the Championships on 31.07.2023 and gave away the prizes. Mr Deepak Thimaya, Founder of Verbattle was present on the occasion, along with the participants, their mentor teachers, parents and other audience.
