In a shocking turn of events, popular Indian YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, widely known as BeerBiceps, found himself in the crosshairs of cyber attackers. On September 26, 2024, Allahbadia took to Instagram to reveal that his YouTube channels had been hacked, leaving his 12 million-strong subscriber base in disbelief. The cyberattack saw his channels renamed to suspicious handles like “@Elon.trump.tesla_live2024” and “@Tesla.event.trump_2024,” and the majority of his content was wiped clean, replaced by old streams of events featuring Elon Musk and Donald Trump.
Allahbadia, who was in Singapore at the time of the hack, later confirmed he was back in Mumbai but has yet to make an official statement regarding the situation. His channels were taken down by YouTube, now displaying the cryptic message, “This page isn’t available.” The impact of the hack, which deleted years of interviews, podcasts, and content, is yet to be fully understood.
A Career at Risk?
Ranveer Allahbadia’s rise to fame began at 22 when he launched BeerBiceps, a channel that has since grown into a digital empire with seven channels and millions of loyal followers. Known for his insightful interviews with prominent figures and his motivational content, Allahbadia has become a significant influencer in India’s content creation space. His loss, therefore, isn’t just personal but also a blow to the larger YouTube community.
However, true to his character, Ranveer addressed the situation with a light-hearted response on Instagram, which only added fuel to the fire of his followers’ anxiety. He posted a picture of a meal, captioned, “Celebrating my two main channels being hacked with my favourite food. Vegan burgers. Death of BeerBiceps met with Death of diet.” In another post, he took a selfie with an eye mask, humorously asking, “Is this the end of my YouTube career? Was nice knowing you all.”
This cryptic and somewhat comical response has left fans divided—some concerned about the future of his channels, while others found his humor in the face of adversity inspiring. But beneath the playful tone lies a larger question: What happens when years of hard work, dedication, and a digital career can be erased with just a few clicks?
