In a grand ceremony held in New Delhi, India’s well-known airline, Air India, unveiled a striking transformation of its logo and aircraft. The esteemed carrier, under the banner of the Tata Group, bid farewell to its iconic red arched window accents, embracing a more streamlined livery.
Notably, Air India’s revitalized identity is set to make its debut on the upcoming fleet of Airbus SE A350 jets, scheduled for launch later this year. Developed in collaboration with FutureBrand, this rejuvenated appearance holds the promise of elevating Air India’s status on the global aviation stage, as emphasized by Chief Executive Officer Campbell Wilson during the momentous unveiling event.
Yet, the reception to Air India’s new logo and its accompanying livery has proven to be a subject of diverse reactions among netizens. While some have welcomed the fresh design as a bold and modern departure, others have expressed reservations or nostalgia for the airline’s previous iconic elements. As the airline takes a decisive step forward with this visual transformation, the discourse among online communities reflects the nuanced and multifaceted nature of public opinion.
Here’s how the netizens reacted:

What do you think of Air India’s new livery? Rate 1-10. I’ll give it a 4. Maybe it will grow on me… but yeah not sure. #airindia pic.twitter.com/wjysbNvxYt

I just love simple, clean and bold livery which stand out. My favourite livery has always been KLM. But Air India was not far behind, especially the tail art.
This new AirIndia livery is not my cup of tea! But, it will always be one of my airlines of choice. pic.twitter.com/eG4eEzfG6h

I like the logo, sleek. The livery tends to put one off at first as it's seen mostly like a medley/plane having played Holi.
What struck me was the tail livery extends beyond the tailfin and that creates a visual disturbance to the eyes. Not normally seen.#AirIndia pic.twitter.com/pftpdWXfX5— Sahil (@Im_SVee) August 11, 2023
