Who is Jigna Vora?

Jigna Vora’s career as a journalist began in Mumbai, where she covered crime stories for the Asian Age. Despite initially studying law, her passion for crime reporting was sparked by the guidance of the esteemed crime journalist Velly Thevar. Her personal life took a challenging turn, leading her to leave her law internship and later return to her family in Ghatkopar, Mumbai. However, her determination led her back to the media industry, where she eventually reported for renowned publications such as Free Press Journal, Mumbai Mirror, and Mid-Day, gathering experiences that shaped her as a crime reporter.

In 2011, Jigna Vora’s career came to a halt when she became a primary suspect in the J. Dey murder case. Despite maintaining her innocence, she was arrested for allegedly providing crucial information about Dey to Chhota Rajan’s gang. Her nine-month imprisonment came to an end with her release on bail in 2012, and in 2018, she was finally exonerated by a special Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) court due to insufficient evidence.
