Chetan Singh, a 33-year-old constable affiliated with the Railway Protection Force (RPF), made headlines when he tragically took the lives of four individuals, including a senior colleague, during a distressing incident aboard an express train. Recently he was relocated to Mumbai in March, Chetan’s records reveal prior complaints regarding his conduct of “indiscipline and insubordination,” prompting concerns and calls for a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding this unsettling event.

The harrowing incident took place at approximately 5 am when Chetan Singh unleashed a series of fatal shots inside the Jaipur-Mumbai train. His rampage began by targeting assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Tikaram Meena, whom he shot inside coach number B-5. The violence escalated as Singh proceeded to take the lives of two more victims: Abdul Kadir and an unidentified man in the pantry car. With a relentless determination, he then made his way to the S-6 coach, where he tragically shot dead Asgar Kai, a bangle seller from Jaipur.
Amidst the chaos, Singh remained standing in the aisle beside one of the victims’ bodies, and spoke to passengers, somewhat incoherently, about “Pakistan”, “media coverage”, and domestic politics. In a video, he was seen saying, “Agar vote dena hai, Hindustan mei rahna hai, to Modi aur Yogi… Yahi do hai” (If you want to stay in Hindustan, vote for Yogi (UP chief minister) & Modi (Prime Minister)).”
Mother Of Democracy.

After the distressing incident, Singh attempted to flee the scene but was swiftly apprehended by authorities. He has been taken into custody, and a high-level investigation is currently underway to shed light on the circumstances that led to the tragic shooting. A senior officer, speaking to the media, revealed that Singh was known to have a short temper and was considered hot-headed. This sudden burst of rage led him to shoot his senior colleague and indiscriminately fire at others in a fit of anger.
