Senior Congress Leader Pawan Khera was arrested by the Assam police at the Delhi airport. Khera has been arrested for his comments on Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Congress spokesperson was on his way to attend the AICC plenary session, which is scheduled to take place on February 24, 2023.
After being deplaned, Khera said that it was over a luggage issue. FIR has been registered under sections 120 B, 153 A, 153 B(1), 500, 504, 505 (1) (2).
While addressing a press conference to demand a Joint Parliamentary Committee in the Adani-Hindenburg episode, Khera referred to PM Modi as “Narendra Gautamdas Modi”.
Hours after his arrest for the alleged insult of PM Modi, the senior leader got relief from the Apex court. The court has granted the leader interim bail till February 28. He shall be presented in Delhi after the period of his bail.
“A passenger was deplaned by the police at the Delhi airport from Raipur-bound flight 6E 204. Some other passengers have also decided to deboard on their own accord. We are following the advice of the concerned authorities. The flight is delayed as of now and we regret the inconvenience caused to other passengers.” said Indigo in a statement.
Pawan Khera allegedly flubbed while pronouncing the name of PM Modi in a recent press conference. “If Narasimha Rao could form a JPC, if Atal Bihari Vajpayee could form a JPC, then what problem does Narendra Gautamdas… sorry Damodardas… Modi have?”
“Make no mistake- pathetic remarks by courtier Pawan Khera on PM’s father have blessings of the top levels of Congress, which is full of entitlement and disdain against a person of humble origins being PM. India will not forget or forgive these horrible remarks of Congressmen,” Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had said
