A sickening incident occurred in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh where an 8-year-old little girl was raped and strangled to death by her neighbors after they lure her into their home with a promise of chips on September 26, 2023. The police found the victim’s mutilated body stuffed in a gunny bag from the balcony of the accused house, who were planning to dispose of the body later in the night. Senior Superintendent of Police Kalanidhi Naithani stated on Thursday, “A panel of three doctors who conducted the postmortem of the eight-year-old girl has confirmed that the victim was sexually assaulted and later strangled to death.”

The accused are identified as Suhaleyheen (20) and his brother Rizwan (18), by the police, and were arrested on Wednesday and sent to jail on Thursday. Their third brother, who is a minor, was also held for questioning but let go after the main accused, Suhaleyheen, confessed to the crime. He told the police that they gave her Rs 20, sent her to buy paan masala and a packet of chips, and lured her into the house after she returned. The brothers then proceeded to rape and strangle her and placed the body inside a gunny bag.

The incident happened in the Turkman Gate area of Kotwali police station in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. The case came to light when the victims’s parents filed a missing complaint with the police on September 26. After the girl went missing on Tuesday, the police started investigating and scanned the CCTV footage which showed the victim entering her neighbor’s house. Based on the evidence of the CCTV footage and postmortem report a murder case has been lodged against the accused, they have now also been booked for rape along with relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, the police said.
