Termed Bollywood’s most desirable woman, Malaika Arora had had a career spanning over 2 decades. The former VJ was introduced to the Indian audience in Mani Ratnam’s iconic ‘Chaiyya Chaiyya’ from Dil Se. Since then, the model’s relevance and stardom have been a matter of mystery.
Bollywood’s ‘Munni’ made her digital debut with her new Disney+ Hotstar show, “Moving in with Maliaka”. The show is a page out of the book which has Keeping up with the Kardashians as its main chapter. The four-episode series gives a sneak peek into the life of the celebrity. The show also has special celebrity guests in each episode.
While many have praised the show for its flamboyant, and extravagant nature, for others it is a boring and undercooked OTT venture for the former reality TV judge. The show is made on a very specific formula of tailoring the show into a binge-worthy experience.
The show puts an active effort into telling the challenges faced by Arora, either as a result of her privacy being intruded on, media treatment, or her car accident. However, the redundant and scripted nature of the show has put many people off.
Social Media Reactions
Most of the conversation about the show is surrounding the ‘cringe’ and not the content of the show.
I could spend my time completing pracs, preparing for vivas and making notes for exams but nope…i'm more interested in moving on with Malaika 🥲 pic.twitter.com/dLgm8ORLEo
