On Thursday, April 20, Congress released its sixth and final list of candidates for the upcoming Karnataka Assembly elections. Kusuma H is one of the youngest leaders the Congress party has fielded. However, who is Kusuma H? Let us deeply understand her personality!
Who is Kusuma H of the Congress?
Kusuma H, a young leader, recently joined the Indian National Congress in 2020. She graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Boston, with a Master of Science in Information Technology. The Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering currently employs her as an assistant professor of computer science. What is her Constituency?
After joining the Congress Party in 2020, Kusuma received the party’s nomination for the RR Nagar seat, according to senior congress leader Siddaramaiah and DK Shivkumar, president of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee. Muniratna, a former MLA from the district, switched parties and ran as a BJP candidate in the 2020 by-elections.
Why is she famous in her constituency?
Kusuma’s door-to-door canvassing during the Karnataka Elections 2023 campaign has demonstrated the quick rapport she builds with the residents of her constituency. People respect her and consider her a member of their own family because she is loved.
Does she have any political history?
Hanumantharayappa, Kusuma’s father, joined the Congress party alongside her. Before joining the JDS, he was a member of the Congress party. Hanumantharayappa’s daughter is now achieving his aim of running for office from the RR Nagar constituency.
He almost ran from the constituency in the 2008 assembly elections. After DK Ravi’s passing, he attempted to run again in 2018. However, he was not given a ticket. In 2020, Gowramma, DK Ravi’s mother, opposed Kusuma exploiting her son’s name in a political campaign.
