A Muslim delivery worker’s first job with Amazon became a scary experience when a customer in Jeedimetla attacked him. The victim, Rahan Fayaz (20) from Maharashtra, had been living in the city for six months. The person who attacked him is KP Vishal Goud, a relative of Quthbullapur MLA KP Vivekananda.

Rahan Fayaz, a recent addition to Amazon’s delivery team, embarked on his initial task of delivering a package to a location in Jeedimetla. Unfortunately, a delivery delay arose due to an address mishap. Fayaz promptly apologized to the customer for the inconvenience. However, the situation escalated when the customer demanded to see Fayaz’s identification. Upon realizing his Muslim identity, the customer, identified as Goud, accompanied by his associates, brutally attacked Fayaz using a cricket bat. The assault left Fayaz with grave injuries, including a fractured hand.

Regrettably, a delivery delay emerged due to an address mix-up, prompting Fayaz to extend an apology to the customer. Yet, the situation took a distressing turn when the customer insisted on verifying Fayaz’s identification. Shockingly, upon discovering his Muslim background, Goud and his companions launched a violent assault on him, utilizing a cricket bat as their weapon. This merciless attack inflicted severe wounds upon Fayaz, including a fractured hand. Despite Fayaz’s effort to report the incident to the Jeedimetla police, they regrettably chose not to take action on his complaint.

This incident came to public attention when Majlis Bachao Tehreek (MBT) spokesperson Amjed Ullah Khan shared a message on Twitter. The message revealed that Shaik Rehan, an Amazon delivery worker, had suffered severe injuries from an assault by K P Vishal Goud and others. Despite Rehan’s visit to Jeedimetla Police Station on August 5th and a two-hour wait, his complaint was ignored, and no medical examination (MLC) was conducted. The attackers’ prejudiced intent became apparent as they inquired about Rehan’s name and scrutinized his Aadhar Card before the assault. This underscores a clear case of religious bias, with police yet to respond.

After Amjed Ullah Khan’s involvement, the police filed charges against Gound and his associates for offenses including criminal intimidation, wrongful restraint, and inflicting severe injuries with intent.
