After the Polygraph test was done on Aftab Poonawalla, reports suggested that he confessed to having killed Shradhha. According to reports by Dainik Bhaskar and First Post, has said that even if he is hanged to death for murdering Sharddha, he would not be sorry since he will be remembered as a hero when he “walks into paradise and will be offered ‘Hoors’ in ‘Jannat’”. Are these claims real, let’s see…?
More Facts?
The team of investigators said that during the polygraph test at West Delhi’s Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL). Aftab has also told investigators that he had trapped 20 more ‘Hindu’ girls on Bumble. He confessed that he lured them into love relationships. It is said he allegedly even confessed to the police his plan to kill his live-in partner in Mumbai itself.
Now Fact Check
According to a Forensic psychologist we spoke to, it was provided that there is no room for confession during a polygraph test. A polygraph test is usually conducted after the consent of the person and is asked a set of questions that can only be answered by a Yes or No which gives him no chance for him to give out a story as to who he lured and what he did. The polygraph test is also called the lie-detection test.
The polygraph test as provided is different from the narco test where sodium pentothal is injected into a person and he could possibly give information in a sedated state of mind. But this is completely different from polygraph and is yet to be conducted on Aftab Poonawalla.
This kind of reporting done in the above article is just by extracting information from the cops on the case and carries a bias about a person’s religion and community. Aftab for that matter according to reports has also said that he is not a religious person during interrogation, so can we confirm that the media is trying to color it as ‘love jihad‘ or what is the agenda?
