An Indian soldier, identified as Prabhakaran, succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday, after an argument with a DMK politician. The soldier was beaten by a DMK councillor and his supporters in Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu.
The soldier and councillor Chinnasamy along with his followers allegedly argued over washing clothes in a water tank. Following the argument, the DMK politician and his supporters attacked the soldier and his brother Prabhu, the same night.
A 33-year-old Indian Army soldier was beaten to death by DMK councillor Chinnasamy and nine of his supporters in Tamil Nadu’s Krishnagiri. Giving details, police said on February 8, the soldier, identified as Prabhakaran, had an argument with Chinnasamy over washing clothes at the water tank near his house. After the argument, Chinnasamy, along with nine men, allegedly attacked Prabhakaran and his brother Prabhu that night.
Prabhu, who survived the attack, filed a complaint against Chinnasamy and his men. The police have arrested six men including Rajapandi, Chinnasamy’s son. The authorities are currently looking for Chinnasamy who has been underground since the attack.
Several users on social media reacted to the event and called out DMK for their member’s actions.
BJP head in Tamil Nadu K. Annamalai invited all the ex-servicemen to protest against the DMK government over the issue. He released a Twitter thread urging the people to protest.
