CTR shared an advertisement of the news that will give you some nostalgic vibes. In this 1 minute video, an old man takes his granddaughter to the CTR hotel and orders Bonda Soup. While viewing the place the old man remembers his first date with his wife at the same spot and ordering the same dish.
Their other famous items are Mangaloru Bajji, a tasty snack of fried dough; Maddur vada, another regional savory; or even poori saagu is also their popular breakfast item.
Bonda Soup is an interesting snack cum soup made with urad dal Bonda (fritter) and spicy moong dal. Basically, the Bonda and dal are prepared separately but are combined together in a bowl while serving. It has won awards including the Times Food Guide “Best Benne Masala Dosa in Bangalore” and Burrp.com’s “Best Benne Masala in Bangalore”.
Shri Sagar Hotel is a heritage restaurant in northwest Bangalore established in the 1920s by Y.V. Subramanyam. It is situated at the 7th Cross Road corner of Margosa Road, Malleshwaram, opposite to the Malleshwaram Grounds. Shri Sagar serves only vegetarian food and is crowded for most of its operating hours.
