Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar on Sunday shared a video to promote his upcoming North America Tour. However, soon after, he started getting slammed by some netizens for walking on India’s map in a new promo video from the upcoming The Entertainers’ North America Tour.

Sharing the clip on Twitter, the actor penned, “The Entertainers are all set to bring 100% shuddh desi entertainment to North America. Fasten your seat belts, we’re coming in March!”. The video shows the actor walking on the globe along with other Bollywood stars Disha Patani, Nora Fatehi, Mouni Roy and Sonam Bajwa. However, only Kumar is getting trolled because his feet apparently stepped on the map of India.
Reacting to it, one of the Twitter users wrote, “A Canadian actor is walking over Indian map and insulting Indians. How is this even acceptable? You have to apologize to 150 crores Indians for this shameful act.” Another user wrote, “Bhai thodi to respect kar liya karo hamare Bharat ki.” Many even ridiculed him by calling him ‘Canadian Kumar’.
A user said, “Seriously. Who came up with this idea to walk on a map ? No matter how much people want to distance themselves from these issues, you movie folks keep making these blatant mistakes, which is responsible for the ire you guys are receiving.” Another person said, “Had any of the Khans (Bollywood actors) rubbed the map of India with their shoes, then they would have been boycotted by now.”
For the unversed, Akshay Kumar always gets trolled for holding a Canadian passport, so he spoke about his citizenship at HTLS 2022. “Having a Canadian passport does not mean I am any less of an Indian. I am very much Indian. I have been here for nine years since I got my passport. And I don’t want to get into the reason why what happened, my films were not working, blah blah blah,” Kumar said.
Akshay Kumar will be next seen in ‘Selfiee’ which also stars Emraan Hashmi, Diana Penty and Nushrratt Bharuccha. The film is directed by Raj Mehta.
