India’s Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s daughter got married in an intimate and private ceremony in Bengaluru. Parakala Vangmayi, Sitharaman’s daughter, got married to Pratik Doshi, who is originally from Gujarat.
The marriage took place in a traditional Brahmin manner, in the Vedic order of Adamaru Mutt without any special arrangements or VIP guests.

Nirmala Sitharaman’s son-in-law Pratik Doshi has been associated with the Prime Minister’s Office since 2014. A graduate of Singapore Management School, Doshi, is currently employed as an Officer-On-Special Duty at the PMO. In 2019, Doshi was promoted to the rank of Joint Secretary.

Pratik Doshi has been with Narendra Modi for a long period. Before working for the PMO, Doshi was working in the Chief Minister’s Office in Gujarat, while Modi was serving in that position. He worked in the Gujarat CMO as a Research Assistant. According to the Prime Minister’s Office website, Doshi’s primary job is to provide secretarial assistance to the Prime Minister in terms of Government of India rules, 1961.
Parakala Vangmayi, Sitharaman’s daughter, has a Master’s degree from the Department of English at the University of Delhi. She has also completed a journalism degree from the Medill School of Journalism, Northwestern University.
Parakala Prabhakar, Nirmala Sitharaman’s husband has also been involved with governments in India. He has served as a communications advisor and also held a cabinet-rank position in the Andhra Pradesh government between 2014 and 2018.
