However, PIB(Press Information Bureau) fact-check was quick to respond to the fake news, as it said: “Chill guys, Don’t get your hopes too high!!” It not only quashed the fake news, but also shared a meme with the notice. A picture of the notice claiming that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has decided to gift a pipeline connection for alcohol to daily consumers was also shared.

The viral post had also claimed that those who want a connection can get it by submitting a demand draft of Rs 11,000 with an application to the Prime Minister’s office.

The post further read that the pipeline will be connected to the house after the review process, that will start one month after submitting the application. According to the post, the bill will be based on usage of the pipeline.

Reacting to the post a user wrote, ”Lagta hai jis bande ne tweet kiya hai wo madirapan karta hai…”

”Kaise pata fake hai ? Punjab ke CM to khud hi jhumne wale hai, public ke achhe ke liye pipe line to laga hi sakte hai,” wrote a user on Twitter.

Verdict:

The claim on social media that the Central government is installing an alcohol pipeline in households at Rs 11,000 is absolutely fake.
